Syria: Bomb hidden in minibus kills 2, injures 13 in Damascus suburb
The explosion occurred in Jaramana, a suburb with significant Druze and Christian communities

At least two people were killed and 13 others were injured after an explosive device concealed inside a passenger minibus detonated in the Damascus suburb of Jaramana on Thursday night, according to Syria's Health Ministry.
State media said preliminary findings indicate the blast was caused by a bomb planted inside the vehicle. Images from the scene showed extensive damage, with the minibus ripped apart and debris scattered across the street.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at this point.
The explosion occurred in Jaramana, a suburb with significant Druze and Christian communities.
Despite efforts by the country's Islamist-led government to restore stability, Damascus and surrounding areas have continued to experience attacks targeting both civilians and security personnel. Jaramana has previously witnessed sectarian unrest, including clashes in 2025.
The latest bombing comes just weeks after twin improvised explosive device attacks in the same area killed one person and wounded 36 others during a visit to Damascus by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Syrian authorities later said they had dismantled an Islamic State-affiliated cell believed to be responsible for those attacks.
