Turkey allowing Hamas, PIJ to take up military positions in Syria - sources

Turkey is allowing Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad to take up military positions in Syria, although it is not arming them, Arab and Western sources told i24NEWS on Monday.

This comes after Turkey confirmed it was in talks with Israel over both countries' presence in Syria, aimed at preventing clashes and possibly coordinating, similar to how Israel operated vis-a-vis Russia for years.
The T4 base and Palmyra, which Turkey has sought to control, have been the sites of Israeli airstrikes aimed at destroying weapons and munitions previously belonging to the Assad regime.
