Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie shared before-and-after satellite images of Gaza City on Instagram overnight Saturday, highlighting widespread destruction during the war and calling for greater access to humanitarian aid.
The post, shared with her approximately 16 million followers, featured Google Earth imagery alongside figures she attributed to the United Nations. It had received about 833,000 likes roughly 11 hours after publication.

Jolie described entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble, with homes, schools, universities, hospitals, roads and water and sanitation systems damaged or destroyed.
Citing a UN satellite analysis dated June 16, 2026, she said 82% of buildings in Gaza had been damaged, with approximately two-thirds of those damaged buildings completely destroyed.
With winter approaching, Jolie said 1.98 million people, 94% of Gaza’s population, needed shelter assistance and essential supplies. She added that restrictions and delays continued to hinder the entry of aid and shelter materials.
While satellite imagery reveals the physical scale of the destruction, Jolie wrote, it cannot convey the experiences of surviving families or the loss of those killed.
The actress, who has publicly supported Palestinians, visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing earlier this year to observe humanitarian aid efforts and express solidarity with people in Gaza. According to the report, she was accompanied by a US State Department representative and Egyptian officials.
