Israel seizes hundreds of thousands of shekels paid by the Palestinian Authority to released terrorists

On Wednesday morning, Israeli security forces raided the homes of several terrorists released as part of the hostage agreements, as well as those of their relatives, who are suspected of continuing to receive allowances from the Palestinian Authority. The operation was carried out by the National Bureau for Counter-Terror Financing of the Ministry of Defense, the Jerusalem Police, and the Border Police.

The security forces seized assets worth several hundred thousand shekels, including five vehicles, approximately 96,000 shekels ($32,000) in cash, and gold jewelry. The seizures were carried out based on orders signed by Defense Minister Israel Katz targeting payments made by the Palestinian Authority to terrorists and their families.

Among the targeted individuals is Mohammed Abd al-Rahman Abad, who was involved in a 2002 suicide bombing attempt in Jerusalem. Authorities also searched the home of Ahed Faiz Ali al-Natsheh, a Hamas member involved in 2001 in preparing a car bomb explosion in the parking lot of a building in Pisgat Zeev, as well as in the attack at the Clal Center in Jerusalem, which wounded twelve people, including two police officers.

This operation is part of the campaign conducted by Israel against the financing of terrorist organizations and the mechanisms for remunerating the perpetrators of attacks. "The defense system, in all its components, will continue to exact a heavy toll on anyone who engages in terrorism or benefits from funds linked to terrorism," the Ministry of Defense and the police stated jointly.
