Houthi attacks threaten Saudi Arabia's flagship investment conference
Organizers are looking into moving Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative online or postponing the event entirely, with a decision expected on Tuesday

Saudi Arabia has announced that it is postponing next week's investor conference due to repeated attacks on the country's infrastructure by the Houthis in Yemen.
Organizers are looking into moving it online or postponing the event entirely.
Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative was set to gather global financial elites in Riyadh beginning on October 26.
A decision on whether the conference will be moved fully online is expected on Tuesday, with postponement the most likely option.
The initiative was part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's Vision 2030 plan to transform the state's economy away from oil production and toward business and tourism.
The Houthis have ramped up attacks on Saudi Arabia since September, when fighting broke out in Yemen after nearly five years of peace.
The Houthis threatened to target Saudi Arabia's infrastructure and put the country under siege by cutting off sea and air routes into the country.
Houthi attacks have killed around 20 people and injured more than 300 others.
