Mecca Pact allies pledge rapid military deployment to Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey confirmed their commitment to collective defense and a unified stance in confronting threats

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey held an emergency meeting in Riyadh on Monday to appoint the Mecca Pact's first secretary-general.
Pakistan’s Lt. Gen. Nauman Mehmood was appointed as the first secretary-general for a three-year term.
The forum condemned Houthi attacks on Mecca and Medina, as well as continued attacks on civilian targets in Saudi Arabia.
The three countries also confirmed their commitment to collective defense and a unified stance in confronting threats.
They agreed to provide "the agreed-upon military forces and capabilities" and rapidly deploy those forces to Saudi Arabia in accordance with the member states’ national legislation.
"This move aims to enhance readiness, military integration, and the collective capacity to confront and counter threats," Saudi Arabia said.
They emphasized the need to translate the Mecca Pact into practical measures that demonstrate the credibility of the joint defense commitment.
