Biggest vegan festival in the world attracting thousands to Tel Aviv's Sarona market
Tel Aviv is known as the vegan capital of the world
Tens of thousands of passionate vegans came to enjoy a dizzying array of food, music and other activities.
Some 50,000 took over the Sarona market on Wednesday night, with the same amounts expected over the next couple of days.
Vegan clothes and shoes were also on the menu, with people in attendance coming to enjoy the experience of an entirely 'cruelty-free' lifestyle.
The festival was put on by the Vegan Friendly organization, headed by Omri Paz, which works to promote veganism in Israel.
Statistics show that Israel played host to the highest proportion of vegans in the world, more than 5% of the total population.
Israel has experienced a vegan revolution in the last few years, with countless restaurants and stores catering for growing demand.
A combination of growing awareness of meat industry practices, and access to a diverse food culture has made the Israeli food scene into a perfect storm for vegan cuisine.
