Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Saturday that Tehran had received “numerous messages” from neighboring countries seeking new regional security arrangements and greater economic cooperation.

“The United States put the security of every single one of its allies at such risk through bullying and pure disregard for their interests for the sake of Israel that they briefly saw their entire existence on the line,” Ghalibaf wrote on X.

“A homegrown, independent order is what will actually deliver peace and security,” he added.

Ghalibaf did not identify the countries said to have approached Iran, provide details of the proposed arrangements or offer evidence of the outreach.

The remarks echoed language he used during a visit to Iraq this week, where he said Tehran sought to accelerate the formation of a “new regional order” without foreign involvement. The visit came as Baghdad faces US pressure to disarm Iran-backed armed factions and seeks Tehran’s permission for Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Ghalibaf’s claim also comes as Washington prepares to announce what Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has called the “toughest sanctions in history” against Iran. Qalibaf, who leads Tehran’s mediated negotiations with the US, acknowledged the mounting economic pressure this week, warning that Iran “won’t endure” if its people are hungry and the economy remains strangled.
