The search for Mali and Liel Yahalomi, the Israeli mother and daughter who have been missing in Vienna since last Friday, is continuing. Police affairs correspondent Moshe Steinmetz reported on i24NEWS sister Hebrew channel on Wednesday that the Mossad is now also involved in the search. At the same time, the Israel Police Commissioner held a situational assessment regarding the investigation, which is being managed in Israel by the police.

Meanwhile, Austrian police said that there is no indication of criminal involvement in the disappearance of the mother and daughter. It emerged that the two checked out of their hotel room at midday on Saturday, as had been scheduled in advance in their reservation. Investigators are now trying to determine why they booked the hotel room only until Saturday afternoon, given that they lead a religiously observant lifestyle. In Israel, the possibility that this was a terror-related incident has not been ruled out.

Another avenue is now being investigated following indications that the mother and daughter may have left Austria and traveled to another country. The investigation found that the two took a large sum of money with them before leaving Israel. There are also indications that location data was deleted from their phones.

Police have also brought the negotiation unit into the investigation. The unit specializes in profiling techniques and other investigative methods. The Israel Police’s representative in the Netherlands arrived in Vienna yesterday, and Israeli police say they are receiving full cooperation from the local authorities.

The police commissioner ordered the establishment of command centers in Israel and abroad to function 24/7.
